Jet Aviation trains senior military officials in finance

Jet Aviation Consults, a training and capacity-building company, has trained senior staffers of the Ministry of Defence working at the Nigerian Army Establishment in Financial Management.

The Managing Director of Jet Aviation Consults, Air Vice Marshal Gbolahan Idowu (rtd), said the training, which was a ‘customised training solution’, was to empower senior Ministry of Defence officials, and tailored to their unique needs.

According to Idowu, Jet Aviation Consults is a training and capacity-building company committed to helping individuals and organisations achieve their full potential through effective learning and development.

He added that the company specialisesd in empowering individuals, teams, and organisations to soar to new heights of success.

 In his closing remarks, the Chief of Accounts and Budget, Major General A.A. Fayemiwo, said the training was in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision, which was “To transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving its constitutional responsibility within a Joint Environment”.

 He emphaised that the training had renewed the synergy between the military and civilian staff of the Ministry of Defence with an overriding commitment to optimising the command of the COAS as well as building better security architecture for the country.

Fayemiwo said the training had furnished senior Ministry of Defence staffers with contemporary policy issues of the country and other work-related thematic issues.

 The Chief of Accounts and Budget said the training, which covered six lectures, provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments and best practices in the field of public finances and healthy living.

“The lectures helped participants understand the changes that have taken place in the public service in Nigeria with the introduction of the new Public Service Rules 2021, revealing that the new performance management system and the Rewards in Public Service, as well as the subconscious intuitive knowledge for the workplace environment, were covered,” he stated.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the host and Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Brigadier-General Julius Osifo, revealed that NASFA was the training arm of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps with the primary responsibility of training personnel in military pay duties, records, and clerical duties.

Osifo disclosed that the school was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education to train personnel and award the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in both accountancy and office Technology and Management stressed that the school has produced 4,542 graduates of both ND and HND respectively.
