Jigawa State governor Malam Umar Namadi has flagged off the distribution of subsidized farm inputs for the cultivation of rice in this year’s dry season farming.
Speaking at the occasion, held in the Auyo local government area of the state, Governor Namadi said the distribution of the inputs is in continuation of his government policy on agricultural development, which included ensuring modern farming techniques and farm inputs are available, affordable, and accessible to the farmers.
He explained that, for the 2025 dry season, rice farming, over 58,000 farmers were registered as beneficiaries of the subsidized inputs, which included fertilizer, improve seeds, solar-powered water pumps , insecticide and herbicide, among others.
The governor also revealed that tractors were mobilised to all targeted areas for farmers at a subsidized rate.
