The Kano State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of AVM Ibrahim Umaru(Rtd) as a commissioner and member of the Kano State Executive Council.
AVM Umaru appeared before the house for screening on Tuesday during plenary presided over by the speaker, Hon jibril Falgore.
When he appeared before the house, the retired AVM presented his biography, experiences and responded to questions from honourable members, after which he was considered following a unanimous agreement in the committee of the whole house.
Meanwhile, in his remarks, the majority leader of the House, Hon. Lawan Husseini, commended the vast knowledge of the commissioner in the areas of security and said he was found to be fit to hold the position of a commissioner.
In his remarks shortly after the screening exercise, the commissioner nominee promised to utilise his vast experience and do his best in the new role assigned to him.
Earlier, before his elevation to the new role, AVM Umaru was the director-general, Directorate of Special Services, Kano State Government House.
