Kano Assembly Seeks Succour For Village Displaced By Fire Disaster

The Kano State House of Assembly has called on the state government and other well-to-do individuals to provide urgent succour to residents of Dosan village in Dawakin Kudu local government area of the state following a fire disaster in the village.

This was a follow-up to deliberations on the floor of the house presided over by the speaker, Hon. Ismail Falgore, during yesterday’s plenary.

In a motion of urgent public importance, the member representing Dawakin Kudu constituency, Alhaji Rabi’u Shuaibu said, all the houses, animals and farm produce of the villagers perished in the disaster while the men were out in their farms and business places.

Alhaji Shuaibu explained that members of the village, made up of about 300 persons, lost valuable properties and agricultural produce in the incident last week.

He therefore sought the house’s support in calling on the state government to provide urgent relief material to the village, noting that no lives were lost, but the villagers were left without food and shelter.
Supporting the motion, Sule Lawan, a member representing the Tudun Wada constituency, stressed the importance of providing aid to the village to alleviate its suffering.
