Kogi Police Confirm Release Of 14 Kidnapped Abuja-bound Travellers

The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the release of 14 Abuja-bound travellers, who were kidnapped in the State last Friday.

LEADERSHIP reports that the passengers in two buses belonging to GIG and ABC Transport companies were kidnapped last Friday at Inyenle, Ogugu in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State while coming from the Easter part of the country.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, who confirmed the development on Thursday evening, however, could not say if any ransom was paid for the release of the kidnap victims or not.

The Police spokesperson also did not provide details of how the victims regained their freedom but said it was of a result of combined efforts of the Military, Police, hunters and vigilantes that led to the rescue operation.

“I can confirm that all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors and ABC transport have regained freedom.
Although whether ransom was paid was not mentioned,” SP Aya stated.
