Kwara Senator boosts Ilorin Fitness Festival with N1m

The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has donated a sum of N1 million to support the upcoming fourth edition of the state capital’s mega fitness event, tagged Ilorin Fitness Festival.

The multi-sport and fitness event is billed for the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin on Saturday, November 16, from 7 am to noon.

Convener of the event and CEO of Exercise is Medicine, Akorede Monsuru, who is also an IOC/NOC certified fitness trainer, thanked the lawmaker for his generosity and lauded his effort in community development.

According to the convener, it is not the first time Senator Mustapha will be supporting the event; he also joined over 500 individuals last year to take part in the event.

“He has once again demonstrated his commitment to the health and well-being of our community through this remarkable donation. His support comes as a major boost to this year’s festival, an annual gathering that promotes a healthier lifestyle through exercise, inspiring participants to embrace active living,” Monsuru said.

The fitness session of the event will feature a walk, aerobics, yoga, stretching, and other fitness challenges.

There will also be 100m, 200m, relay race, sack race, tug of war, and a novelty football match.

The organisers have also charged residents of Ilorin to register for the event for free and also plan to attend.
