Kwara United condoles Sunshine over kit manager death

Kwara United Football Club has condoled the management of Sunshine Stars over the demise of the club’s Assistant kit Manager, Taiwo Dosunmu.

Late Taiwo was shot during an attack on Sunshine Stars by unknown gunmen at the Benin-Ore express road, on their way to honour their NPFL away match against Bendel Insurance FC two weeks ago.

He reportedly died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital on Friday, December 22, 2023.

In a message signed by the Chairman of Kwara United, Kumbi Titiloye, the club condoled Sunshine Stars, as well as the family of Taiwo, describing his death as unfortunate.

“Our condolences go to the management, staff and players of Sunshine Stars of Akure, as well as the family of the deceased, over the death.

“With heavy hearts, we mourn the untimely death of your club’s Assistant Kit Manager, Taiwo Dosunmu, who died in the line of duty as a result of the injuries he sustained from the bullets of armed bandit along Benin-Ore expressway on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

It would be recalled that his selflessness at the moment of the attack saved the lives of players and other members of Sunshine Stars management.

“May his soul rest in Peace,” the release added.
