Lagos Monarch Elegushi To Empower 1,000 Subjects To Mark 15th Anniversary

The Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom in Lagos State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, has commenced the first batch of his ₦200 million Empowerment Initiative — a bold step to support education and economic development within his community.

In celebration of 15 years of majestic milestones and impact, the Elegushi Foundation is launching a ₦50 million intervention fund for students and SMEs. He has already hosted several community-focused events, including a special Lawn Tennis Club tournament and a comprehensive Medical Outreach programme that provided free healthcare services to residents of the community.

According to the monarch’s Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Mr Temitope Oyefeso, the initiatives reflect the Foundation’s holistic approach to community development through health, sports, education, and economic empowerment.

“This empowerment program represents our continued commitment to fostering development and creating pathways for success within our community. By investing in both education and small businesses, we’re building a stronger foundation for our collective future,” he stated.

Programme details are ₦50 million allocated for grants. The application which will open until Sunday, April 20, 2025, is available to qualified students and small business owners and first 1,000 eligible applicants will be considered

The initiative aims to provide grants to support educational pursuits and business expansion needs. Funds will help cover school fees, purchase educational materials, acquire business equipment, and expand inventory for small businesses.

The foundation has established a streamlined application process to ensure fair consideration of all qualified candidates. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the official foundation website for detailed eligibility requirements and submission guidelines.

The application portal is now open at www.obaelegushifoundation.org. Prospective applicants should review all eligibility criteria carefully before submitting their applications. The foundation emphasised that only completed applications submitted before the deadline will be considered, and the programme will close once 1,000 eligible applications have been received.
