LOXEA Nigeria, a subsidiary of CFAO Mobility, has introduced electric vehicles to the Nigerian market, marking a significant milestone in the country’s move towards sustainable mobility.
The introduction of electric vehicles by Build Your Dreams auto company is projected to position LOXEA
at the forefront of promoting innovative electric vehicle solutions across Africa.
This was contained in a statement signed by LOXEA’s managing director, Mehdi Slimani, and made available to The PUNCH on Monday.
According to the statement, the move positions LOXEA as a key player in Nigeria’s emerging electric vehicle sector, offering a wide range of 100 per cent electric vehicles from BYD.
“Along with the vehicles, the company is providing a comprehensive suite of services, including the installation of electric vehicle charging stations, vehicle maintenance, repair services, and spare parts.
In an effort to enhance the electric vehicle experience for Nigerians, LOXEA promised to unveil its first electric vehicle charging station at its new showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos.
“The company is also offering a convenient home charging solution for customers, allowing them to charge their electric vehicles at their convenience,” it stated.
The Managing Director of LOXEA expressed excitement about the launch, saying, “We are proud to distribute these electric vehicles and provide all the associated services. Our upcoming showroom in Victoria Island will be a space dedicated to the discovery of BYD vehicles, combining modernity, comfort, and economy of use. It is important for CFAO Mobility in Nigeria to contribute to the country’s energy transition and support customers wishing to switch to electric vehicles.
“BYD, a global leader in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, continues to drive innovation in the industry. The company recently celebrated a historic achievement in November 2024 by producing its 10 millionth new energy vehicle, cementing its position as the global sales leader for three consecutive years, with 4.27 million NEVs sold in 2024 alone.”
The CEO of CFAO Mobility, Marc Hirschfeld, also highlighted the significance of the launch, stressing that “BYD is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electric vehicles, and its innovation aligns perfectly with the growing demand for sustainable mobility in Africa. To facilitate this transition, an entire ecosystem must be developed around electric mobility, addressing not just individual and corporate customers but also urban public transport systems and government stakeholders.”
