Manchester United Contact Victor Osimhen’s Reps Ahead Of January Transfer Window

Premier League giants Manchester United have initiated discussions with Napoli concerning a prospective January transfer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is presently on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray.

According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, speaking on Sky Sports Switzerland, the Red Devils have already made contact with Victor Osimhen’s representatives to gauge the feasibility of securing the player.

This interest from Manchester United comes in light of their ongoing struggles in front of goal during the current Premier League season.

Reports suggest that negotiations over personal terms are unlikely to pose significant challenges, indicating a potential willingness from the player to join Manchester United.

Currently, Victor Osimhen has been in remarkable form, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in just 15 appearances for Galatasaray this season.

His impressive performances have made him a coveted target for several elite European clubs, but United may face a financial hurdle as they could be required to pay around €75 million to Napoli for the striker. Additionally, an extra fee may be necessary to cover the costs associated with terminating his existing loan agreement with Galatasaray ahead of schedule.

Despite the mounting interest from various European giants, Osimhen recently reiterated his dedication to Galatasaray, emphasizing his intention to remain with the club until the end of the current season.

After netting a brace in a thrilling 3-2 victory against Tottenham earlier in the month, Osimhen said, “I will not leave in January; I am at Galatasaray until the end of the season. I do not know what Galatasaray and Napoli are discussing for the future, but if they approach me, we will talk. Galatasaray is a nice club that I like very much.”

Adding to the speculation, former Galatasaray coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu expressed doubts regarding the Turkish club’s financial capacity to make a permanent deal for the star striker.

Hamzaoğlu cautioned that Galatasaray may face significant economic barriers that could hinder their ability to retain Osimhen long-term. He said, “It is difficult for Galatasaray to buy Victor Osimhen. I can say that they cannot. There are suitors for Osimhen out there. Galatasaray can go up to a certain point in the figures, but beyond that, it may lead to financial issues. The financial situations need to be assessed. However, if he stays, he will continue to provide benefits.”
