Music is bedrock of my existence — Shyboi Truth



A budding artiste, Ojo Olakunle, popularly known as Shyboi Truth, has spoken about what music truly means to him. In an interview with Saturday Beats, he said, “Music is the bedrock of my existence, if I’m not doing music then I have no need to co-exist in this creative ecosystem.”

The afrobeats singer came into the music scene in 2022 but garnered significant attention from music lovers after the release of his single ‘Mafor’ in 2024. Shyboi Truth has established himself as a performing artiste with recognition. His follow-up single, “Way up,” helped him to win the hearts of fans.

Reflecting on his journey, the artiste shared how his life experiences inspired his music. He stated, “My life experiences inspired my single, ‘Way up’. Everything that has happened in my life was orchestrated by God, so I know I’m a son of victory.”

Born on April 28, 1998, Shyboi Truth began his musical career at an early age, playing musical instruments.

He told Saturday Beats, “As the afrobeats genre continues to evolve with richer sounds and better production, I aim to establish myself as a musical giant from Lagos State to the world.”
