My spirituality made dad take me to T.B Joshua — Just Adetoun

A controversial activist, entrepreneur and singer, Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as Just Adetoun, has said that her father took her to the late Prophet T.B Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations at a young age, because of her ‘spiritual inclination’.

She told Saturday Beats, “I lived there (SCOAN) as a youth. My father took me to Prophet Joshua, because of my spiritual inclination. My father thought they would understand me better. My mum was a member of the Deeper Life Christian Ministry, but I was born into a Methodist church.”

She expressed that she has been a born again for 30 years and is surprised about how long ago she has given her life to God.

“Shockingly I just recalled that I have been born again for over 30 years. People might say really, how does a born again look like, but we define, God does not define.”

Reacting to people who feel she is chasing clout with her outlandish claims, Adetoun said, “We are all humans, and I am a woman of pedigree and class. I am from a royal family, which is well recognised and respected.

“It is often said that one cannot go to the river to swim and not get wet. When one stands for the truth, some people won’t like it. Such people, who don’t like the truth, will do anything to bring one down. I saw the interview about AY, (where someone falsely accused him of having an extramarital affair, before coming out to confess that the allegations were false). Things like that happen to me too. People say a lot of things because they want to drive online traffic to themselves. I don’t have any (social media) page that is of commercial value, where I make money. I am just being myself.”

She added that the fear of not failing her children and younger generations was her driving force.

She stated that her members of the family feel bad about some of the things written and said about her. People may drive traffic to their pages, but they don’t understand that the mental health of my loved ones were affected.”
