Nasarawa LP unveils directorate for mobilisation, integration

The Nasarawa State chapter of the Labour Party has inaugurated its Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration to strengthen its membership and garner support ahead of upcoming elections.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony at the party’s secretariat in Lafia, the state capital, on Friday, the Chairman of the LP in Nasarawa State, Alexander Ombugu, stated that the event was held following a directive from the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja.

Ombugu noted that the LP performed exceptionally well in the 2023 elections, particularly in the presidential election where the party won by a landslide in the state.

He expressed confidence that with the establishment of the new Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, the party would secure numerous elective positions in the 2027 elections.

He said, “Today, we are here for a special task, which has been entrusted to us by our National Headquarters. The purpose of establishing this Directorate is to galvanise support and attract more members, making the party stronger.”

“With the inauguration of this Directorate, I am confident of victory for the party in future elections, as I believe in the ability of everyone in the team to deliver according to their roles.”

He mentioned the names of those inaugurated, including Ablaku Anthony as Chairman, Auwal Musa as Secretary, Emma Umbugatsa and Jatau Umbugala as members, alongside Mike Ayubu, Ankara Daniel, Namo Adgizi, Sunday Anzaku, Agah Aaron, and Zeal Innocent.

The LP State Chairman further stated that the newly inaugurated team would work closely with the party’s Youth Leader and Organising Secretary to ensure proper guidance in their duties.

“We must work together as one family, not as a divided house. If any of you face challenges while carrying out your duties, please bring them to the party leadership, not outsiders. Together, we will find solutions and elevate the party,” he added.

Ombugu also expressed gratitude to the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure, for his relentless efforts to ensure the party’s success despite challenges from adversarial politicians.

“I would like to take this opportunity to commend Barr. Julius Abure, our National Chairman, for his unwavering commitment to the party. Under his leadership, the party has made great strides, and we continue to support him fully,” Ombugu concluded.

The newly inaugurated Chairman of the Directorate, Ablaku Anthony, spoke on behalf of the team, thanking the party leadership for entrusting them with their respective roles and promising to serve diligently.
