N’Delta varsity seeks NDDC’s support in ICT devt

The Vice Chancellor of the Niger Delta University, Professor Allen Agih, has solicited the cooperation and support of the Niger Delta Development Commission in training in students Information and Communication Technology.

Agih made the appeal when the NDDC Executive Director, Projects, Victor Antai, paid him a visit at the university in Amassoma, Bayelsa State.

According to a statement by the NDDC Director, Corporate Affairs, Pius Ughakpoteni, on Tuesday, the Vice Chancellor described human capital development, ICT and research development as veritable tools for advancing society.

He said the visit was not only to seek the NDDC intervention in terms of projects but to come up with other areas that could advance the society.

“We know that NDDC has constructed roads and is building a 500-bed hostel for the university.

“However, we need to look at other critical areas that could help identify and solve problems of production, food security, environmental challenges and health in the region,” he said.
