Senator Ali Ndume, representing the Southern Borno Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has distributed 22 carriage tricycles to the 10 village heads in his constituency, the state All Progressives Congress (APC) party executive members, and two other special persons.
Ndume said the Presidency and government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are committed to reducing hardship in the country, especially with the removal of the fuel subsidy. He described the carriage tricycles as a palliative measure to help people cope with the rising cost of living.
“We chose this type of palliative because people are bringing back their farm produce from their farms. This is more like pick-up vehicles that can carry goods, farm produce, and persons. The district heads will use the tricycles for their people,” Ndume explained.
He praised Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his people-oriented projects and for allowing the southern part of Borno State to produce the APC chairman in the state.
APC State Chairman, Hon. Ayuba Bello, commended Ndume for his continued support for the people of his constituency. He said Ndume has provided sewing machines, grinding machines, and now tricycles to help his constituents.
“People are supposed to emulate what he has been doing. This is the type of representative we want. Some senators are supposed to emulate what he had been doing,” Hon. Ayuba said.
