Speaking in a statement to mark the World Malaria Day 2025, Tinubu said Nigerians must “reinvest, reimagine, and reignite” efforts to end the disease, which continues to claim thousands of lives annually.

“The theme for this year, ‘Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,’ challenges us to renew our investment in life-saving interventions and revive our collective commitment,” she said.

Mrs Tinubu called on government agencies, private sector players, nongovernmental organisations (NGOs), health workers, and community leaders to show greater urgency in the malaria fight.

She also stressed the importance of clean surroundings, warning that stagnant water remains a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
