Sunday Oliseh has been receiving encomiums from Nigerian football fans after the former Super Eagles captain was appointed to the International Football Association Board, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

FAP is one of two advisory panels of IFAB, the second being the Technical Advisory Panel, which is made up of leading refereeing experts.
Oliseh took to his official social media account, where he posted on X, “Thrilled to announce my appointment to the International Football Association Board (IFAB)! IFAB is the global guardian of football’s laws, responsible for determining the laws of football and shaping the beautiful game for players and fans worldwide. Honoured to contribute to its mission!”
A cross-section of Nigerians flooded the comments section with goodwill messages. Omo Ologo wrote, “Congratulations skippo,” Ayowande Adalemo replied, “Congratulations Egbon.”
Shitta Lawal said, “Merited appointment skippo, may God make it easy for you and make it a catalyst for better things for you and your family. Do your thing bros,”

Oliseh, who once donned the colours of German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund and Italian Serie A side Juventus during his playing days, retired from active football in 2006, before embarking on a career in management and coaching, which saw him become sporting director at Belgian clubside Eupen before having spells at Dutch side Fortuna Sittard and SV Straelen of Germany.
