Nigerians urged to explore German employment initiative

Skilled and qualified Nigerians have been advised to take advantage of the German Initiative for Knowledge Transfer eV, Chancenkarte job, to migrate legally to Germany and secure jobs.

The new Country Director of the German Initiative for Knowledge Transfer eV, Obinna Ichita, said this advice on Thursday in an exclusive chat with The PUNCH.

He stated that the offer was a new initiative of the Federal Government of Germany to enable skilled and qualified Nigerians to migrate legally to Germany and secure jobs.

Ichita disclosed that the German government introduced the offer to Nigerians to enable qualified people to work in Germany and called on Nigerians to grab the offer, apply and secure gainful employment in that country, especially by the youths and be useful to themselves.

He advised Nigerian youths to leverage the opportunity to become gainfully employed, contributing members of society.

He further advised that applications can be made at the German Embassy in Nigeria or through the Chancenkarte website.

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission disclosed last year that 22 German companies were planning to invest in Nigeria, adding that the trade volume between the two countries hit over £3bn.
