Ogun Customs generates over N4bn in two months

The Ogun State Area ll Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has said it generated N4.63bn revenue between September and October 2023.

This figure represented 24.8 per cent surge compared to the corresponding period of 2022.

The Customs Area Controller, Olusola Alade, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Alade highlighted the commitment to the core mandates of improving revenue generation, facilitating trade, and protecting national economic security.

He emphasised the strategic steps taken to enhance collaboration among stakeholders within the supply chain.

According to him, “The command generated total revenue of N4.63bn in September and October 2023, which is 24.8 per cent higher than what the Command generated in the corresponding period last year. The November revenue is just dropping into the federation account and it is now being collated.

“During the period under review, we deployed sustained intelligence reconnaissance, effective monitoring and robust stakeholders’ engagement in our operations.”
