Osimhen Accused Of Punching Journalist In Istanbul

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has been accused of assaulting a journalist during a late-night outing in Istanbul, Turkey.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, allegedly punched journalist Tolga Bozduman outside an entertainment venue.

The confrontation reportedly occurred as Osimhen was leaving the venue with friends. According to the Turkish publication Posta Newspaper, Bozduman and three other journalists were taking pictures of the Nigerian footballer when the situation escalated.

Bozduman, recounting the ordeal, said, “I filmed Osimhen at the door with three of my colleagues. When the flashes went off, all hell broke loose. He ran towards me, screaming. He tried to take my camera away from me, but I didn’t let him. The punch he threw hit me in the head. My right side still hurts. He then started swearing.”

The journalist also alleged that Osimhen attempted to offer money in exchange for deleting the footage. “He offered, Destroy the footage, I’ll give you money. When I refused, he threatened me by saying, I’ll destroy you,” Bozduman claimed.

Neither Osimhen nor Galatasaray has released an official statement addressing the allegations.

Despite the controversy, Osimhen has been in top form for Galatasaray. The 26-year-old striker has scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 19 matches across all competitions, cementing his reputation as one of the top performers in the Turkish league.
