Pillars five-goal hero dreams Eagles

Kano Pillars forward Yusuf Abdullahi on Sunday scored five goals against hosts Gombe United as San Masu Gida triumphed 5-2 and immediately voiced his desire to play for the Super Eagles at the post-match conference after the game at the Pantami stadium, Gombe.

According to Abdullahi, the victory will spur him to score more goals in future.

“I started playing (professional football) this year and I’m 18 years old. Seriously, I have nothing to say but to thank God for this feat,” Abdullahi said.

“I’m happy and thankful to God. I can’t explain how excited I am. I’m hopeful that I will continue to get more goals. I will like to play for Nigeria in the future.”

Coach of Kano Pillars Abdulahi Maikaba said he was satisfied with his team’s performance.

“It’s an exciting result, very nice result and one of the brilliant talents that is coming up scored all five goals in a Nigerian football league game today. It’s a wonderful day for Kano Pillars.”

On the implication of the result, Maikaba added, ”The implication is that we can work for whatever we want in this league. With this type of result, if we can get two more of it, we can get to the top.”
