PMAN excited by court judgment upholding election

The National Industrial Court has upheld the elections of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria, which held on October 24, 2023, and saw the reemergence of Pretty Okafor as the President.

In a recent ruling, the National Industrial Court sitting in Lagos affirmed the legitimacy of Okafor’s leadership.

In his ruling, Justice M.N Esowe stated that any defiance of the outstanding ruling constituted contempt of the court of competent jurisdiction.

In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the association expressed its gratitude to the National Industrial Court for upholding justice and preserving the democratic process within the association.

The statement read in part, “The court’s intervention serves as a resolute stand against illegitimate actions that could compromise the integrity of the performing musicians’ community. Pretty Okafor remains committed to advancing the interests of performing musicians in Nigeria, and this ruling further reinforces the association’s dedication to upholding the rule of law.”
