Researcher Oluwafemi invents models for economic risk management

A researcher from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State, Olatunji Oluwafemi has invented advanced numerical models designed to address economic risks and dynamics, according to a statement released on Monday.

The statement emphasised the increasing need for precise computational methods across various sectors, including environmental modelling, chemical processes, and economic policy formulation.

Oluwafemi’s work focuses on solving stiff differential equations, which are critical for modelling sensitive and complex phenomena requiring high levels of accuracy and stability.

“With economies becoming more interconnected and vulnerable to rapid changes, the need for robust computational tools is greater than ever,” Oluwafemi said.

He highlighted how these tools can mitigate risks associated with economic shocks and financial crises, fostering global economic stability.

The researcher’s innovative methods, including the development of generalised hybrid multi-step approaches, enhance the analytical capabilities of researchers and policymakers, enabling more accurate predictions and simulations.

These advancements aim to improve global economic resilience, facilitate sustainable growth, and optimise policy outcomes.

“This work not only advances the theoretical foundations of numerical methods but also offers actionable solutions for addressing challenges in economic dynamics, environmental impacts, and space exploration,” the statement noted.

Oluwafemi stressed the importance of such tools in tackling global challenges, adding that they are essential for developing robust models capable of managing economic volatility and promoting long-term stability.
