Sanwo-Olu lauds Jumia



Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has applauded Jumia Nigeria for its outstanding contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s e-commerce sector and the broader economy, acknowledging the company’s resilience and its position as a key driver of digital commerce in the country.

Sanwo-Olu made these remarks during a recent courtesy visit by Jumia Nigeria’s management team to the State House in Marina, where he praised the company’s impact on job creation and economic development in Lagos and beyond.

He said, “Jumia has become a household name in Nigeria’s e-commerce space, demonstrating a remarkable growth trajectory over the years.

“As a government, we remain committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. Through various initiatives, we have strengthened the ease of doing business and fostered innovation to drive economic growth.”

He further emphasised the state government’s readiness to collaborate with private sector players like Jumia to advance infrastructure development, enhance service delivery, and create more employment opportunities for Lagosians.

According to him, such partnerships are crucial in building a sustainable future and improving the quality of life for residents.

On his part, Jumia Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Natraj, expressed gratitude to the governor for fostering a business-friendly environment that has enabled the company’s growth.
