School Green House shine at ISL sports events

The 33rd annual inter-house athletics competition of International School Lagos, which held last Thursday, produced more illustrious moments for the school as more budding pupils etched their names among the best athletes from the citadel of learning.

It was held at the school’s sports complex on Thursday January 25 with six houses vying for medals in different track and field events.

At the end of the competition, School Green House topped the medals table with 10 gold, seven silver and 11 bronze, followed by Senate Blue in second with eight gold, 12 silver and five bronze, while Bursary White finished third with eight gold, six silver and six bronze medals.

Chancellery Yellow, Registry Red and Congregation Purple were fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Some of the outstanding pupils who went home with individual honours include Shittu Ibrahim, who emerged overall best athlete by winning four gold medals. He was also named the best male senior athlete, while Kudirat Ayeni won the best female senior athlete by claiming three gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Others include Usman Salih, the best male junior athlete with four gold medals, while Udoh Abasi won the best female junior athlete with three gold and one silver medal.

The event was graced by Sylvester Nwadugbo of SLB Nigeria Limited as chairman, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof Folasade Ogunsola, Chairman of International School Management Borad, Prof Ngozi Osarenren, and other principal officers of UNILAG and the school.
