Snooker, billiard fans feted by liquor brand at tournament

Grand Oak Limited, maker of the liquor brand— Lord’s Dry Gin—has said that it supported the recent Lagos Country Club Snooker and Billiard Championship 2023 as its way of investing in premium sporting activities in Nigeria.

The snooker and billiard championship, which is a popular event that brings together extraordinary talent and enthusiasts at the esteemed Lagos Country Club, Ikeja Lagos, held from November 17 to 22, 2023.

The last edition witnessed remarkable performances and intense competition, culminating in exhilarating victories for top contenders.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Prime Business Unit at Grand Oak Limited, Stanley Obi, said, “The level of skill and dedication witnessed during the tournament truly highlights the incredible potential within Nigeria’s billiards and snooker community. In a display of skill and precision, John Gideon clinched victory in the snooker category; while in the billiard category, Damola Ogunnusi emerged victorious, beating formidable opponents in a gripping final that saw a display of remarkable talent and sportsmanship.

On his part, Olusegun Akinyemiju, the Brand Business Manager at the company, expressed delight in supporting such an ‘esteemed’ event, stating that the brand remained dedicated to fostering the growth of sports.
