Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has expressed his determination to return stronger from a recent injury setback after undergoing surgery.
Maduka Okoye had surgery on Tuesday to address a persistent wrist injury, which he aggravated during an intense Serie A match against Genoa last week.
In the wake of the surgery, Okoye is set to embark on his rehabilitation journey, focusing on recovery over the next several days.
Earlier today, December 11, the 24-year-old Nigerian international took to his official X platform to share his thoughts with fans and supporters.
He wrote, “Surgery is done, and I want to extend my big thanks to Dr. Pigoli and his incredible team! I’ve played for the last two months with a broken ligament in my hand, and although I won’t be on the pitch for a while, I’ll be supporting the team from the stands. I’m committed to recovering and working hard to make a comeback in top form! See you soon!”
This season, Okoye has played a crucial role for Udinese, making 14 league appearances and gaining valuable experience in Italy’s top flight.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Ligue 1 champions, are reportedly maintaining their interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, PSG is preparing to make a move for Osimhen, who is currently enjoying a loan spell with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who possesses a release clause of €75 million, is eligible to make a switch to another club during the upcoming January transfer window.
This strategic interest from PSG comes after they were linked with the 25-year-old talent over the summer.
Presently, Osimhen is recuperating from a muscle injury but has made a notable impact so far, contributing 10 goals and five assists in just 13 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
