Coach of Edo Queens of Benin, Moses Aduku, has tipped his team for glory despite losing to Remo Stars Ladies 1-0 on the opening day of the Super Six on Saturday in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Despite dominating the game, the Benin team lost by a solitary goal through a free kick by Olasubomi Ogundele in the 85th minute of the epic encounter.
However, Aduku said his team would return to winning ways when they take on Rivers Angels on Monday (today). The Angels also lost their opening game to Bayelsa Queens and are also in search of their first win.
The coach said, “We lost our first game to Remo Stars Ladies, but we were gallant in defeat. We are not out of the competition. We are still a top contender. We have corrected our mistakes and we will be all out against Rivers Angels.
“In the regular season, we came here and defeated them 1-0. And on Saturday, we dominated the game. However, when you make a mistake in football, you pay for it. But notwithstanding, Edo Queens will certainly bounce back to winning ways.
“We must take our chances and do the needful against Rivers Angels. They also lost their first game to Bayelsa Queens, so it is going to be a tough battle, but we are ready. It is not over yet until it is over,” he said.
In Monday fixtures, Edo Queens will battle Rivers Angels, Remo Stars Ladies will take on Naija Ratels, while Bayelsa Queens will file out against Nasarawa Amazons.
