The Taraba State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has announced a partnership with the College of Sports, Serbia, for training and certification programmes for sports coaches, trainers, medical personnel, and physiotherapists in 2025.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development of the state, Joshua Joseph, also revealed that another partnership with the Football Federation of Serbia to offer UEFA A, B, and C certification courses for football coaches in Taraba is also included.
“With gratitude to Almighty God and immense appreciation to His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, for his unwavering support and dedication to youth empowerment, are pleased to announce these partnerships and urge indigenes of Taraba interested in pursuing training and certification in athletics or other sports fields are to submit their CV and letter of interest to the office of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development,” Joseph said in a statement.
“This project is a transformative step toward empowering Taraba youth, providing them with world-class training, certification, and opportunities to excel in sports. It’s not just about developing skills; it’s about building a legacy of excellence and positioning Taraba as a leader in sports development.”
The Ministry will also host the Governor Kefas Scouting Tournament in January 2025, which will see scouts from Portugal, Austria, Lithuania, Finland, and Serbia on the ground to identify and nurture exceptional football talent from Taraba State.
