Farida makes the heavy topic light with jokes that Altine has finally “japa’ed”, the new slang for “left the country.” I have a strong feeling that slang, word would soon be in the English dictionary as it has become so popular these days. However, we had a conference call over lunch with Altine and she assured us that she had not japa’ed. Her cousins were so happy to have her around that her uncle had actually helped to sort out her papers so she could have a temporary job.
