The Supermarket: I Want To See The Manager

I thought that rather unfair to any shopper and misleading so I insisted I wanted to see the manager. The manager was called and the story repeated. “You guys should not put a false price on the shelf and then charge a higher amount at checkout it’s all shades of wrong.” I finished quietly.

The manager apologised knowing the implications of what had just occurred even if the sales girl did not understand. He asked her to sell it at the price I saw on the shelf he would add the remaining N500 balance out of his own pocket and rectify the shelf mistake. I don’t know if this was intentional to get unsuspecting shoppers at unawares or not, but this should be a lesson that one needs to pay attention to price tags.
