Tinubu Pays Tribute To Buhari At 82, Vows to Build On His Legacy

President Bola Tinubu has released a heartfelt birthday tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari in celebration of his 82nd birthday, acknowledging his enduring contributions to Nigeria’s development.

In a message shared on Tuesday, President Tinubu lauded Buhari’s steadfast dedication to the nation, describing him as a leader whose service and resilience have significantly shaped Nigeria’s progress.

“On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to you on your 82nd Birthday,” Tinubu wrote, highlighting Buhari’s journey of perseverance in contesting presidential elections in 2003, 2007, and 2011 before ultimately securing victory in 2015 and 2019.

Reflecting on Buhari’s legacy, Tinubu commended the former president for his leadership as the pioneer of Nigeria’s first All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

He vowed to continue building on the infrastructure advancements achieved under Buhari’s tenure.

“Your doggedness and resilience in contesting presidential elections in 2003, 2007, and 2011 before winning them in 2015 and 2019 also inspire us never to give up.
