Transport firm pledges affordable mobility solutions

A new transportation company, DROP Innovation Limited, has officially launched in Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja, promising to provide secure, affordable, and reliable mobility solutions.

The firm unveiled its latest innovations in Lagos on Thursday.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of DROP, Moyosore Oladehinde, stated that DROP’s commission for drivers would be capped at 8.5 per cent, leaving the majority earnings of 91.5 per cent directly with the drivers.

She said the innovation is a means to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.

“We will take 8.5 per cent and the drivers will have the rest. Our mission is to build trust and ensure customer satisfaction through 24-hour customer service and continuous service improvements,” she said.

Oladehinde added that the company plans to recruit 1,000 drivers across Lagos, Abuja, and Ibadan within the first six months of operations. To achieve this, the company aims to  partner with car dealers to support drivers with vehicle accessibility.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief Technology Officer, Tope Adamson highlighted the app’s user-friendly design, which caters to both drivers and passengers.

“We have created a win-win situation. The app meets the basic needs of our users while ensuring seamless mobility,” Adamson explained. He also announced the introduction of “JustCars,” a platform that allows customers to rent cars, and also schedule transportation appointments for convenience.

In his remarks, the Director of Lagos Transport Operations, Olasunkanmi Ojowuro, commended Drop for its commitment to compliance and sustainability.

“Drop’s initiative will contribute to reducing traffic and fostering an eco-friendly environment. I urge the company to maintain strict adherence to regulations,” he said.

Ojowuro added that with plans for innovative partnerships and a focus on safety, Drop is poised to transform Nigeria’s ride-hailing space while enhancing mobility for drivers and passengers alike.
