Troost-Ekong Foundation announces 2025 charity match

The Troost Ekong Foundation has announced that its 2025 charity game will be held in Lagos on June 21 and also released FOUNDATIONS, a documentary that highlights its work in empowering young Nigerians through sports, education, and community development.

The film, now available on YouTube, tells the story of youth in Akwa Ibom State whose lives have been transformed through the foundation’s initiatives.

The event will bring together top athletes, celebrities, and community leaders to raise funds for programs that create opportunities for Nigerian youth.

“We are incredibly excited to share the FOUNDATIONS documentary with the world,” said Super Eagles defender and founder William Troost-Ekong.

“This film is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in TEF, and it showcases the incredible potential of young people when given the right opportunities.”

As part of its commitment to youth development, the foundation is establishing a state-of-the-art Sports & Skills Academy in Akwa Ibom State. The academy will provide young people with athletic training, educational resources, and essential life skills to help them succeed.

“The Sports & Skills Academy is a pivotal project for TEF,” Troost-Ekong said.

“We are committed to creating a space where young people can excel in both sports and academics, empowering them to become future leaders and role models.

“The Charity Football Match is a celebration of giving back. It’s an opportunity for us to unite and raise vital funds to support our mission. We are looking forward to an unforgettable event in Lagos,” he added.
