UNIOSUN lecturer wins fellowship

A lecturer at Osun State University, Dr Iyanuoluwa Adufe, has been selected for the Nigeria Malaria Modelling Fellowship.

 Adufe’s selection was confirmed in a release signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji.

Adesoji explained that Adufe’s achievement underscored her exceptional academic prowess and dedication to public health.

The release partly read, “The MMF, a collaborative initiative between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Corona Management System, National Malaria Elimination Programme, Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organisation, aims to bolster the mathematical modelling capacity of public health professionals in Nigeria.”

The university spokesperson, also said UNIOSUN Vice-Chancellor, Prof Clement Adebooye, while reacting to the feat achieved by Adufe, commended her, attributing the success to the institution’s commitment to research development and problem-solving.

Adebooye also said, “Our university’s unparalleled track record in grant acquisition and fellowships in recent years reflects our dedication to research excellence.  Adufe’s accomplishment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges,” remarked the Vice-Chancellor.

“This year, we have secured numerous grants, notably the TETFund NRF grant, which has significantly enhanced our local and global visibility. We remain steadfast in our pursuit of research excellence, and I congratulate Adufe while urging other researchers to continue their efforts in finding solutions to national and global issues.”
