Uromi Killings: Bala Praises Tinubu, Governors For Rapid Response

In light of the recent tragic event in Uromi, Edo State, where a mob killed 16 individuals suspected of kidnapping, the chairman of the House Committee on Public Service, Hon (Engr) Sani Bala Tsanyawa, has expressed deep appreciation for the swift actions taken by President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly and state governors.

Hon. Tsanyawa commended President Tinubu for his immediate instructions to security agencies, highlighting the necessity for clear and decisive measures to tackle the crisis. He stated, “The president’s prompt response demonstrates his steadfast commitment to the safety and security of all Nigerians. Such leadership ensures justice is served and that offenders are isolated to prevent future incidents.”



Additionally, Hon. Tsanyawa praised the National Assembly for initiating a thorough investigation into the killings. He underscored the importance of legislative oversight, noting that comprehensive inquiries are essential to uncover the root causes and develop strategies to prevent similar occurrences.

Hon. Tsanyawa also recognised the actions of the Edo State governor, who transferred the suspects to Abuja for a proper investigation, ensuring transparency and impartiality. The governor’s visit to Kano to express condolences to the victims’ families further demonstrated empathy and solidarity during this difficult time.

Reflecting on the tragedy, Hon. Tsanyawa extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, praying, “May Allah have mercy on the souls of the departed and grant their families the strength to endure this loss. We collectively hope and pray that such a tragic event never happens again in our nation.”
