Uzoho, Umar, Chukwueze to arrive Eagles camp late

Francis Uzoho, Sadiq Umar, and Samuel Chukwueze, are expected to arrive late for Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations training camp in Dubai which opens on Tuesday (today) as the trio all have fixtures for their repective clubs, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Uzoho’s Cyprus-based club, Omonoia Nicosia, will host AEL limasson at the GSP Stadium today as they look to move up to second on the Cypriot First Division table before the shotstopper will leave for the AFCON.

For Umar and Real Sociedad, they will also play in a home game as the Spanish topflight club will play hosts to Deportivo Alaves at Anoeta.

After a slow start, Umar has now scored two goals in the last three LaLiga games and will be keen to add to his tally against Alaves.

A win, draw or loss will see Sociedad remain in 6th on the LaLiga table but they will be keen for a win to help their European chances this season.

While Uzoho and Umar have league fixtures starting at 6pm and 7pm respectively, Milan winger Chukwueze will be preparing for a 9pm Coppa Italia clash.

AC Milan are also home as they host Cagliari at the San Siro in the Italian Cup round of 16 looking to make it into the quarter-finals.

Chukwueze has not appeared in the Coppa Italia this season for Milan despite playing 18 matches already this season across the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.

The Super Eagles camp will miss the trio with Uzoho and Chukwueze commanding starting spots in the squad and the hope will be that all three can avoid injury especially for the forwards after Kelechi Iheanacho suffered an injury towards the end of 2023.
