Miva Open University has announced the unveiling of its Lagos Study Centre, aimed at redefining educational experience and boosting learning in the country.
The launch ceremony of the centre is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (today) in Yaba, Lagos.
According to a statement, the newly established centre represents a major step in Miva’s vision to make learning more accessible, flexible, and community-driven for students nationwide.
The Chancellor of Miva Open University, Mr Sim Shagaya, said, “This centre is a testament to our belief that learning should be flexible, accessible, and supported by a community that encourages growth.”
Beyond academics, Shagaya mentioned that the university has prioritised student well-being by integrating lifestyle-enhancing features. “These additions reflect the university’s commitment to fostering a holistic student experience,” he added.
Also, the Registrar, Mr Iheanyi Akwitti, said, “From modern study rooms to state-of-the-art computer facilities, we are providing a space that is not only conducive to learning but also supports their well-being.”
It further noted that the Lagos Study Centre offers a collaborative and focused learning environment, featuring a digital E-Library, a 197-computer CBT centre, and modern study rooms amongst other amenities to support both individual and group study needs.
“Miva’s bold move to establish a physical centre underscores its blended learning model, combining the flexibility of online education with the support of in-person facilities. With plans to expand across Nigeria, the Lagos Study Centre is just the beginning of a new era in student-focused education,” it stated.
