VIDEO: Actress Lolo decries explicit TikTok challenge among young girls

Nigerian actress Omotunde Adebowale-David, popularly known as Lolo, has expressed concern over a trend on the popular social media platform, TikTok, where young girls “display their breasts.”

In a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Lolo shared her distress after viewing a video where a young male TikTok user encouraged girls to expose themselves on camera as part of a purported “challenge.”

She said she was further disheartened to see numerous young girls complying with the request, displaying their naked breasts on TikTok.

She said, “I am not happy today at all. I saw a video on TikTok where another TikToker, a young boy is asking girls to flash their breasts on TikTok.

“And I see different girls, not one not two not three flashing their naked breasts on TikTok and people are watching. And I am wondering what is happening and they told me it is a challenge.”

She further highlighted the rise in cases of sexual assault and violence against women and girls, emphasising the need for greater protection and awareness.

“We are already seeing girls being raped on a daily basis, not just raped killed, assaulted and abused and yet our young children are not having the sense to keep their modesty.

“We need to stop this. Where are our mothers, caregivers and guardians, our wards are going astray on a daily basis. As a mother, I am unhappy, because I saw it with my two eyes,” she said.

In her caption, the actress advocated for increased regulation and control of social media content writing, “This made me very sad, and I can’t just sit down and do nothing. I will continue to advocate for some kind of control of social media because the things seen are just beyond me!”
