World Cup qualifiers: Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana set for crucial clashes



The race for spots in the FIFA World Cup intensifies as African teams continue their qualification journey with crucial fixtures across different groups on Friday.

In Group A, Burkina Faso will take on Djibouti at 17:00, while Ethiopia faces Egypt in a high-stakes encounter at 22:00.

Meanwhile, Group B will see DR Congo go head-to-head with South Sudan at 17:00.

In Group C, Nigeria is set for a crucial match against Rwanda at 17:00, as they look to bounce back in their quest for a World Cup spot.


South Africa will also be in action against Lesotho at the same time, hoping to capitalise on home advantage.

Group E features a late-night clash between Niger and Morocco at 22:30, with Morocco widely regarded as the favourites.

In Group F, Burundi will battle Ivory Coast at 20:00.

In Group G, Botswana will host Algeria at 14:00, while Guinea faces Somalia at 22:00.

The Group H encounter at 14:00 will see Equatorial Guinea take on Sao Tome and Principe.

In Group I, Ghana will be up against Chad at 20:00, with the Black Stars hoping to stay on course for World Cup qualification.
