Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has once again affirmed its position as a leading polytechnic in Nigeria, in sports just as in academics, while emerging second overall best at the just concluded 22nd Nigerian Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA) themed “Ijakadi 2024”.
The college’s contingent delivered a remarkable performance throughout the tournament, securing an impressive total of 15 gold, 9 silver, and 20 bronze medals.

Yabatech’s feat according to the rector, Dr. Engr Ibraheem Abdul, expressed deep pride and congratulated the entire team for their resilience, focus, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. The College, he said, has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in sports development as part of its vision to produce graduates who are not only worthy in character and learning but physically fit in sports to represent the nation in global competitions.
