Yobe Philanthropist, Tumsah, Plans More Water Projects In Communities

Yobe State philanthropist, Kashim Musa Tumsah, has announced plans for more water projects for communities across the state to complement Governor Mai Mala Buni‘s efforts at addressing water shortage in the state.

In a post on his social media handle, he said the next phase of water projects through solar-powered boreholes was being put together along with his friends to appreciate Allah for allowing him witness another birthday.

Many communities in the state have benefited from solar-powered water and street light projects executed by Tumsah under the “Light Up Yobe Initiative” designed to provide communities in dire need of potable water.

The philanthropist urged communities with water shortages to take part in the process.

“In order to complement the laudable efforts of the Governor Mai Mala Buni administration, and in expressing my gratitude to Almighty Allah for allowing me see another birthday, my friends and I are calling on all Yobe indigenes to take part in the next phase of our water project in Yobe communities,” he said.

According to him, the benefiting communities are to be selected based on nominations stating the village/town, ward and local government areas.

He stated that towns/villages with the most nominations in each local government area would qualify for solar-powered boreholes.

The information barred local government headquarters from the phase of the initiative which targets indigent rural communities only.

He noted that nominations would run for two weeks, urging other wealthy people in and outside the state to play their roles by giving back to the society.
