YoungOG unveils talent show for persons with disabilities

Roc Da Mic Africa Limited, in partnership with YoungOG, has announced the launch of ‘Roc Da Mic Africa: Special Edition’, a reality music talent show dedicated exclusively to spotlighting persons with disabilities across Nigeria.

According to a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the groundbreaking initiative aims to promote inclusion, celebrate underrepresented talent, and challenge longstanding stereotypes in the entertainment industry. Framed as more than just a show, the special edition was presented as a movement built on resilience and creativity.

“This is about music, yes; but it’s also about purpose, pride, and possibility. We’re telling a story the world hasn’t heard,” YoungOG, who is the founder of Roc Da Mic Africa, noted.

Originally launched in 2004 as a youth empowerment platform, Roc Da Mic Africa has previously helped launch the careers of notable talents such as Wande Coal, Timaya, LKT, MayD, Seyi Law, D’banj and Don Jazzy.

While the official launch date for the Special Edition had yet to be announced, organisers promised a lineup of powerful performances, compelling personal stories, and an inspiring journey toward visibility and empowerment for disabled artists.

The production team revealed ongoing efforts to assemble partners and collaborators who share a commitment to accessibility, diversity, and social impact.
