Yuletide: Coy Chair Fetes 2,000 Anambra Residents

The residents of Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State experienced a jubilant Christmas celebration as Ichie Kennedy Chimezie Nwankwo, the chairman of Bigly Group of companies, ushered in this year’s Christmas festivities alongside thousands of residents, both natives and non-natives.

This year’s Christmas celebration saw an unprecedented turnout compared to previous years, thanks to the annual sponsorship by the Bigly Foundation. Reports indicate that over 2,000 residents actively participated in the joyous occasion.

The hosts of the event, Chairman Abig Nwankwo, affectionately known as “Abig,” and his wife, Ambassador Lilian Chinasa Nwankwo, co-founder of the Foundation, actively engaged in the festivities, marking the culmination of the Foundation’s end-of-year activities.

During the celebration, essential items such as bags of rice, groundnut oil, and various household necessities were generously distributed among the Okija community. The residents, who turned out in large numbers to partake in the festive occasion, expressed heartfelt gratitude and admiration for the Abig Nwakwo Foundation’s ongoing benevolence, a tradition that has persisted since 2012, solely financed by the Foundation.

Abig Nwankwo, a distinguished businessman, heads the board of Bigly Group, a conglomerate with subsidiaries spanning various sectors, including Energy, Automobile, Food Processing, Woods, Oil & Gas, among others.
